The proposal for the Dreyers Fond Exhibition at BLOX – Copenhagen uses diversity to tell endless stories to visitors. The stories are about our architecture and beyond. Each visitor’s personal and private answers to the question “What is the shape of it?” will be an open opportunity and a way to start exploring our architecture again and again.

The project considers the representation of 11 necessary architectural acts as a reflection of our design process. Our exhibition shows a dialogue between the terminological etymology and the formal essence. The physical models are manufactured in solid CNC-milled marble from 11 countries and synthesises: Echoing, Embracing, Connecting, Emulating, Structuring, Stacking, Encompassing, Interpolating, Fragmenting, Unveiling and Extracting.
The resulting forms refer to the “archetypes” of several architectural proposals, which we tested in competitions and realised works of varying scopes and purposes. From our practice, the 11 acts drive us toward a conscious move from the empty design of forms that colonise our generic cities to the solid form through which the geometric, linguistic, scientific, and artistic meanings of a particular cultural context can be conveyed.
The 11 acts linguistically refer to several fundamental lemmas. They are related to the essential material production, the first acts needed to transform the formless into form, and the mats into architecture.
